Mursley United secured their first win of the calendar year as they completed a double over Hale Leys United by completing a 2-1 victory.
Adam Garratt returned from injury to take his place between the posts and player-coach, Paul Parkinson, partnered Ricky Foster up front in the only two changes from the side beaten by Kent Athletic the previous week.
Mursley started well and dominated possession in the first half, but only created half-chances and appeared a little nervous in front of goal. Their inability to convert was not terminal, as it had been the week before, and they went ahead five minutes after half time, when,Mursley having broken quickly, the ball arrived with Paul Hollingsworth whose volley flew into the net. However, within a minute, the hosts were level. THe visitors lost possession in the centre of the field and Moreton broke through the middle to beat Garratt. Mursley continued to press and Robin Tucker always looked a threat from set-pieces as well as being unflustered and solid at the back. With five minutes remaining, Foster was fouled on the right wing and Mitchell Tofts drove in a left-footed free-kick for Tucker to nod home.
